Eryn Bordes
Born in Southeastern United States, Eryn first discovered the beauty of nature by exploring her neighborhood loblolly pine forests. Her creative nature led her to earn a degree in art, and later expressed itself in a love of exploring the details of nature as a botanist.
Her sense of adventure led her to California, specifically to Yosemite National Park, where she has explored, taught and worked as a guide for over 20 years. Alaska has also captured Eryn’s imagination. She spent her first summer in Alaska at an eco-tourist lodge in the heart of Denali National Park where she studied the natural history, explored the wild lands, and backpacked through the trail-less wilderness. As a guide in Kenai Fjords National Park, Eryn has kayaked with guests amongst icebergs, taught temperate rainforest ecology, and observed wildlife in its natural settings. She has been an Outward Bound instructor, is a certified yoga instructor, and has wilderness rites of passage training.
Eryn has banded birds in Canada on the North Shore of Lake Superior, assisted with field research in the cloud forest of the Ecuadorian Amazon, and was amongst the first Western visitors to a remote village in the Himalayas. She has traveled to India to study yoga and has spent several years living at isolated retreat centers exploring the inner landscape. She has a strong passion for helping people develop curiosity, connection and comfort in wild places.
