Thomas Schmidt

Thomas Schmidt is the author of National Geographic's Guide to the Lewis and Clark Trail and co-author of The Saga of Lewis and Clark, a book of essays about their journey across the continent. He has followed the Expedition's route from the mouth of the Missouri to the mouth of the Columbia--paddling some portions, hiking others, and camping. Tom also has written extensively about the nature and history of the Rocky Mountain region. His books include The Rockies, one of National Geographic's Driving Guides to America titles.
