COVID-19 Entry Requirements by Destination

Lindblad Expeditions' protocols require all guests five years of age and older, to be fully vaccinated. Please note that guests who are 4 years of age and under and unvaccinated may still travel.

Effective September 1st, 2022, booster shots will be strongly recommended, but not required, for all guests. Please note, some voyages may require boosters.

For all voyages departing prior to October 1st, 2022 guests will receive a COVID-19 test, arranged by Lindblad, prior to boarding. Embarkation testing will no longer be required for voyages departing on or after October 1st, 2022. Please see our Health & Safety Protocols for details.

Below you will find details on our currently active expeditions:

United States (not visiting Canada)

Canada

Effective October 1, Canada’s regulations no longer require the completion of the ArriveCan app nor a professionally administered or observed negative antigen test prior to entry.

Iceland and Greenland

For guests on the following voyages: Iceland's Wild West Coast to East Greenland; East Greenland: Wild Shores of the High Arctic

  • Iceland and Greenland currently have no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.

Europe

Mediterranean Gems: From Dubrovnik to Naples

For entering Italy and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension):

  • There are currently no COVID testing requirements to enter Italy and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension).
  • Each traveler, regardless of age, must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to enter Italy and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension). Full vaccination is 14 days past the final dose of an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine or booster.
  • Each person arriving in Italy and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension) must be prepared to show the original paper copy as well as an electronic copy of their CDC vaccination card reflecting their vaccination status. The CDC vaccination card is considered equivalent to the EU Digital COVID Certificate.

Sailing the Greek Isles aboard Sea Cloud

For entering Greece:

  • There are currently no COVID testing requirements to enter Greece.
  • Each traveler, regardless of age, must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to enter Greece. Full vaccination is 14 days past the final dose of an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine or booster.
  • Each person arriving in Greece must be prepared to show the original paper copy as well as an electronic copy of their CDC vaccination card reflecting their vaccination status. The CDC vaccination card is considered equivalent to the EU Digital COVID Certificate.

Under Sail: Greece to the Dalmatian Coast aboard Sea Cloud

For entering Greece, Albania, Montenegro, and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension):

  • There are currently no COVID testing requirements to enter Greece, Albania, Montenegro, and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension).
  • Each traveler, regardless of age, must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to enter Greece, Albania, Montenegro, and Croatia (and Bosnia if on the optional extension). Full vaccination is 14 days past the final dose of an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine or booster.

Costa Rica

  • Costa Rica currently has no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.

Panama

  • Panama currently has no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.
  • Travelers must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • The government of Panama requires that an Electronic Health Affidavit (in physical or digital form) be submitted to their airline or carrier before boarding to Panama. Register and fill out your Health Affidavit.

Colombia

  • Travelers must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • Travelers must complete Migración Colombia’s online Check-Mig form within 72 hours of boarding an inbound or outbound flight from Colombia. Register and fill out your Check-Mig form.

Belize & Guatemala

Bahamas

  • Travelers must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • Effective 19 June 2022, all unvaccinated travelers ages 2 and older will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test — either a negative RT-PCR test or a Rapid Antigen test — taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to travel and present the negative test results at check-in before travel to The Bahamas. Children under the age of 2 are exempt from any testing requirements.

Egypt & Jordan (Extension)

  • Egypt and Jordan currently have no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.
  • Visitors to Egypt are required to be able to show proof of health insurance that covers medical and other expenses related to COVID-19 should the visitor test positive for the disease.
  • Visitors to Jordan are required to submit a health declaration form and obtain a QR code to be presented prior to boarding the flight to Jordan. Register and fill out your Health Declaration Form.
  • Visitors to Jordan are required to be able to show proof of health insurance that covers medical and other expenses related to COVID-19 should the visitor test positive for the disease.

South America & Antarctica

Peru & the Amazon

  • Travelers must have proof of full vaccination, demonstrating they have received all the required vaccine doses at least 14 days before travel to Peru to be exempt from the requirement to provide proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test. No test or vaccine is required of travelers under age 12 by Peru, only that they be without symptoms. All visitors 12 years of age or older who are not fully vaccinated must present a molecular test with a negative result (within 48 hours) prior to boarding an incoming flight to Peru, in accordance with current health regulations.

Galápagos and Ecuador

  • Travelers must complete an online Health Declaration Form. Details will be provided in your final documents.
  • As of October 22, 2022 Ecuador has dropped its COVID-19 entry requirements. No proof of vaccination or a COVID-19 test is required.
  • Ecuador re-instituted a mask mandate for enclosed spaces effective December 8, 2022, subject to re-evaluation. This includes coaches, internal flights, public spaces in hotels, and indoors aboard ship.

For voyages to Antarctica, Patagonia, South Georgia and The Falkland Islands

Please note, for the following voyages: Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands and Epic Antarctica: From the Peninsula to the Ross Sea & Beyond, each traveler that is 12 years of age and older, who completed their primary vaccination series more than 5 months ago, is also required to present proof of a booster.

Chile

  • Chile currently has no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.
  • Travelers must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • Travelers must be prepared to provide proof of medical travel insurance that includes hospitalization, quarantine, and transportation coverage of COVID-19 in case of a positive test or identification as a close contact.
  • COVID-19 tests will be administered at random at the entry point (Santiago) and any positive case will be quarantined according to the General Health Regulations established by the Chilean government. Violation of quarantine carries the risk of penalties and fines.

Argentina

  • Travelers coming to Argentina must be prepared with the following:
  • Medical travel insurance that includes hospitalization, quarantine, and transportation coverage of COVID-19 for those who tested positive, are a suspected case of COVID-19 infection, or are contact of a probable confirmed case. 

Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)

  • The Falkland Islands currently have no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.

South Georgia

  • South Georgia currently has no special Covid-19 protocols in place. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.

Wild South America: The Guianas to Brazil

Trinidad and Tobago

All passengers arriving in Trinidad and Tobago must properly wear fitting face masks and are encouraged to adhere to existing public health and social measures. Regulations are subject to change at any time.

Guyana

  • All adult passengers traveling to Guyana must still show proof of being fully vaccinated (fully vaccinated means 2 weeks after your second dose of an accepted vaccine or 2 weeks after an accepted single dose vaccine).
  • All travelers are subject to health screening.
  • All incoming passengers must undergo a temperature check by the Port health Officials. Passengers who record a temperature above 37.5C (99.5F) or who appear ill and/ or display some symptoms of COVID-19 shall be further evaluated by Port Health. The Ministry of Health reserves the right to require testing of any person regardless of documentation presented or any other requirement, obligation or condition associated with their assigned risk category.

Suriname

Fully vaccinated persons will be required to present the following documents. Regulations are subject to change at any time.

  • Proof of complete vaccination
  • Yellow fever certificate for persons traveling from or transiting countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.

French Guiana

  • Proof of vaccination for yellow fever, or written proof from a doctor that yellow fever vaccination is not medically recommended, is required to enter French Guiana.
  • The Government of French Guiana Immigration officers may request evidence of travel or health insurance upon entry to French Guiana. Regulations are subject to change at any time.

Brazil

  • All travelers entering Brazil must provide proof of full vaccination status in printed or electronic form in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. Regulations are subject to change at any time.

Uruguay

Travelers coming to Uruguay must be prepared with the following:

  • Proof of health insurance effective in Uruguay for the duration of your stay is required for all foreign travelers entering Uruguay.
  • A signed declaration of health completed within 48 hours before initiating travel is required. Fill out and complete your health declaration.

Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia & Pacific Islands

For the following voyages: Coastal New Zealand: Auckland to Milford Sound; Southern Odyssey: New Zealand and the Subantarctic Islands

  • Travelers to New Zealand must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • All travelers to New Zealand must complete a declaration and receive a Traveller Pass before they travel. Fill out and complete your New Zealand Traveller Declaration.
  • Once you have completed the New Zealand Traveller Declaration, and provided you meet the requirements, a Traveller Pass will be emailed to you. You may need to show your Traveller Pass at check-in and when you arrive in New Zealand. Your Traveller Pass can be printed out or saved to your mobile device.

Exploring Indonesia: Bali, Raja Ampat, and Papua New Guinea

  • Those traveling to Solomon Islands must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • Those traveling to Solomon Islands must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival into the country.

Under The Southern Cross: New Zealand to Melanesia

Australia

Solomon Islands

New Caledonia

Vanuatu

  • Those traveling to Vanuatu must provide proof of a negative PCR test done 24 to 72 hours before scheduled departure from travel origin, OR a negative Covid-19 supervised certified RAT done within 24 hours of departure. This test will be administered to guests aboard National Geographic Orion prior to arrival in Vanuatu.

New Zealand

  • Travelers to New Zealand must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination upon entering the country. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through immigrations. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.
  • All travelers to New Zealand must complete a declaration and receive a Traveller Pass before they travel. Fill out and complete your New Zealand Traveller Declaration.
  • Once you have completed the New Zealand Traveller Declaration, and provided you meet the requirements, a Traveller Pass will be emailed to you. Australia
