After a late breakfast we arrived at Cayo Acuatupu, one of the over 350 islands making up the San Blas Archipelago. San Blas is home to the indigenous Kuna people. Our arrival produced an intense trade fair, as they had hundreds of the famous molas for us to look at and buy. There were other activities going on as well, and some of us saw the traditional dances with pan flutes. One of the families was also squeezing a large supply of sugar cane. The sugary liquid will be fermented and used during a celebration such as a wedding or a coming-of-age ritual.
