Cerro Dragon and Venecia
We had a wonderful day, sunny and beautiful. We started with a walk in Cerro Dragon, where we counted several land iguanas and lots of different kinds of Darwin’s finches. Many guests enjoyed swimming from the beach after the walk, while others went to snorkel around a tiny islet, with hundreds of colorful fish that are shaped like a Hershey’s kiss. Some of our guests preferred to explore Venice by kayak, and had the place just for themselves, with calm waters and a lot of marine life.
In the afternoon the kids learned to drive the Zodiacs and then we had more takers for the kayak option. A few preferred to explore Venice by Zodiac, accompanied by their naturalists, so they could see the wildlife but also get interpretation about the natural history of the area.
It is amazing how Santa Cruz Island can offer so many different options, such a variety of sites, each unique and wonderful.
