Bartolome and Santiago Islands

This was our last full day in the enchanted islands, therefore we offered as much as we can. Early this morning, very early, we went out to reach the summit of Bartolome which is an open book of geology and the view from the top was fantastic; so it was worth every single breath.

After breakfast many went to enjoy water activities from a golden beach, they all came back very happy after having been submerged in this clear waters timing of fish life.

At noon our Captain Wilfrido Chavez repositioned the ship toward James Bay in the western side of Santiago Island for our final outing; this is the island where Darwin spent most of his days while he visited the archipelago, to be precise 9 days. But for us it is a very special place as well; we consider Santiago our adapted island because since the Polaris came in 1997 Lindblad Expeditions has joined in the protection efforts of the Galápagos National Park Service, and let me tell you that with a lot of success.
