Genovesa Island harbors the world's largest "red footed boobery" of possibly 140,000 pairs. The red footed boobies have the least conspicuous social behavior of the three species of boobies that occur in the Galapagos Islands. They have very few interactions with each other -- but with us, it's a different story! This morning when we visited the beach at Darwin's Bay, red footed boobies showed us that they are very friendly creatures. They allowed us to get quite close to them and we got some wonderful photos. That was great!!
