Another wonderful day in the Gulf of California, we spent the morning whale searching and we got lucky, had two blue whales….YES! the largest animal on Earth, so you can picture that!! In the afternoon we had a nice hike at a place called Punta Marcial on the Baja California Peninsula. But to tell you the truth, for me the most exciting part of the day was going for a night dive, and taking the Splash Camera with me. The Chief and Assistant engineer came with me. We were transmitting our night dive to the TV in the lounge, so in other words everybody on board came diving with us but they stayed warm and dry. I was so impressed at finding all kinds of marine life down there from urchins, sea stars, sea cucumbers, anemones etc to these amazing fish called Halfbeaks (Hyporhamphus sp.) who are in the family of the Needlefish, we were lucky to find a big school of them. Back onboard everyone had a good time exploring the underwater world at night, thanks to all the new technology like this Splash Camera and the underwater digital camera that we are able to use in our adventurous expeditions.
