A bright sunny day, a hike up a remote sandy wash, and time spent letting go of the familiar world at a perfect beach. What better way to start an expedition exploring the Sea of Cortez?
But before we even arrived for our morning landing at Punta Colorada on Isla San Jose, we experienced what felt like a lifetime's worth of whale and dolphin sightings. Bottlenose and common dolphins took turns riding the ship's bow. But it was the multiple sightings of the giant blue whales that thrilled us all the most. And this all took place before breakfast.
