Today we anchored in the Grenadines in the Tobago Cays. With sea turtles lifting their heads up from the turquoise water to gaze upon the graceful Sea Cloud, we were more than eager to board the local catamaran, sail to our last snorkeling destinations and immerse ourselves into the blue. Spotted morays, stingrays, gurnards, French and queen angelfish, brittle stars, and of course, green sea turtles greeted us as we explored the underwater then later land iguanas shared their gorgeous white sand beach with us at Petit Bateau. Hard to believe our sun-drenched fantastic week is sadly coming to an end.

Following another sumptuous multi-course lunch including a delectable fresh pasta dish with aged parmesan, served from an enormous cheese wheel, we gathered to hear historian Tom Heffernan deliver his lively, engaging, and scholarly presentation on the Rastafarian religion. Just before the captain’s farewell cocktail party, replete with caviar and champagne, we were treated to a sneak peek of Dr. Tierney Thys’s upcoming TED talk featuring National Geographic funded research on the response of the brain when exposed to nature. What a week for the mind, body, and soul…
