Otter Encounters in the Inian Islands

Alaska’s thriving kelp beds create an idyllic and safe space for sea otters to raise their young. This past summer, guests aboard National Geographic Sea Lion enjoyed a water-level view as one otter mom attended to the fluffy pup on her belly. Here, naturalist and certified photo instructor Sharon Grainger interprets the adorable encounter that took place in the remote Inian Islands.
