Today we visited the most populated island of the Galapagos Archipelago and my home: Santa Cruz. The encounter with civilization gave our guests the opportunity to learn about the conservation programs that are being run by the Galapagos National Park Service and the Charles Darwin Research Station. Puerto Ayora town is cozy and picturesque, and full of wildlife.

A short visit to El Trapiche, a local traditional farm, was included. In the afternoon we enjoyed close encounters with the Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Valentine’s Day must have made the mood extra romantic, because we even had the opportunity to see some of the Galapagos giant tortoises mating, what a great surprise! Galapagos is magic!
